O1 - Oil hardening

LC - Low carbon

• Substantial cost reductions over tool steel flat ground stock.
• Furnished in 24" lengths, which means you get one third more steel for less cost
• Is easily machined and has excellent weldability and uniformity to case hardening
• the manganese content provides greater strength and hardness compared to other carbon steels
• Applications include punch pads, stripper plates and backup plates.

S7 - Air hardening

An excellent air-hardened shock steel that combines the qualities of high strength and good ductility for cold and medium hot work applications.

D2 - Air hardening

The combination of superior abrasion resistance and toughness found in D2 results from it's high carbon and chromium. It is an excellent tool steel that can be specialized for the most demanding applications.

A2 - Air hardening

• The 5% chromium content makes this steel especially desirable for punches and dies to be used in long production runs since it gives the tools far longer life. Up to 50% more pieces per sharpening can be produced than with oil hardening steel
• A2 is a superior quality steel which provides excellent wear and abrasion resistance properties
• Maintains close dimensional accuracy throughout the heat treating process. The wide 75° hardening range make this virtually foolproof
